Two Sides of a Coin
I walked so far
through wind and hail
tramp'd through dark canyons
cross green fertile vales,
searching, still searching
in a sort of vision quest
divine spark is the question
'fore my soul finally rests,
the faces I've seen
the troubles I've met
finding black hatred
interest on Adam's debt,
tho' ev'ry once in awhile
under a glowing moon's face
I'd meet a rare angel
in a warm safer place,
so dark angels below
above brighter stars
either of us here
as we choose who we are,
for in all of my wanders
startled, I now see
that the god isn't out there
he's hidden in me...
