Two Leaders

He came from the United States and they met in Vatican City
What one man seemly equates another man can only find pity
And as these two powerful men met in sitting side by side
Such actions should not be let and so it is on you too abide

This was not said in public space nor was it Pope Francis who so said
But in the sanctity of God's Grace it was the Pope's actions that led
As His inner core would meet and to the President they would express
Shaking their hands to greet I can only guess He expected nothing less

And so they stated their case as I'm sure I needn't state back to you
But from within His face I felt that He could sense that this was true
In knowing all along he would set it aside for this is not His view
Yet as hard as He has tried it's so hard to fight against what is true

And so back our President came in reality to shepherd this land
But everything seems the same I guess He didn't understand
But at least these words were spoken and something was said
Yet if in this, one can not be awoken it is for that soul that I dread

Vincent, I am afraid I don't know what this poem refers to. I am not up with the news very much. Is it something very recent that happened at the Vatican? Soupmail me what it is about, would you?
