Two Is a Crowd
If I'm feeling pressured I'm gonna retreat
Your need for control is your cause for deceit
So back off my heels and give me some space
What I call a grip you call an embrace
You're still in my aura, I sense you with dread
I sleep as you sit on the side of my bed
And watch me in slumber and ask yourself this
"Is she dreaming of me?" You lean in for a kiss
But your hug is a strangle; an unwary snare
And my trust in you still keeps me lingering there
My dwindling safe house is too small for two
But somehow I always accommodate you
You feel 'entitled' to all that I am
And though it's unhealthy you don't give a damn
Get outta my shadow, get off of my cloud
I'm startin' life over and two is a crowd.
