Two Halves Make a Whole

We both loved someone, who ripped us in half, A fraction of our heart, is what we have. We've tried so many times, to fix the break, Only to make the glass more jagged, in our wake. We've fought so hard, to recreate, We've put at risk, our emotional state. We've known each other, for so long, And probably only sometimes thought, we belong. These two halves, we both hold, Let's put them together, and make a whole! I promise I'll be loyal, and you do too, We only have one heart, if we break it, we'll be through. Through my heart, the words found their way, As I anticipate, what you will say.
