Two Become One

Our eyes shone bright with happiness and wonder Both of us began a new life on that day I felt as though a sea of love just pulled me under Never to return me from that gracious bay All dressed up in white, both him and I standing in the house of our one and only Lord The faces of our friends and family looking side to side as we sang out each of our vows, word after word Such a joyous occasion, bringing together separate lives Two single flames now turn into only one As now he is my husband, and I am his wife We walk arm in arm out into the shining sun We drive our first road, as unity begins I look at him and know he is my soul mate He returns my look and can't help but grin Butterflies fill my stomach as if it's our first date Three long years we walked together and it seems as if this is just a start I know that we'll be one forever And I know that he now holds my heart I've never felt better in my eighteen years than on the day that I got married We shed so many happy tears No longer will loneliness be carried
