Twilight’s Prayer

Listen to poem:
The golden sun begins to fade, Its colors brushed in soft cascade. The world bows low on bended knee, O Lord, have mercy, hear my plea. The nightingale begins its tune, Beneath the rising silver moon. A song prayer in melody, O Lord, have mercy, hear my plea. The stars ignite the velvet skies, Reflections in a lover’s eyes. Their light a guide for hearts to see, O Lord, have mercy, hear my plea. As shadows stretch and daylight dies, My whispered hopes to heaven rise. In faith, I trust what is to be, O Lord, have mercy, hear my plea.
