Twilight Zone
In the zone between light and half light.
White crested waves come crashing ashore.
Like wild beasts escaping the water
with the sound of a distant jets's roar.
A boat drags along the horizon
Running lights spilling off of its sides
Big fish under cover of darkness
Venture close on the incoming tide.
To the West a tired sun is sinking
Slipping silently into the bay.
In the East the North Star is winking
as if saying goodbye to the day.
