Twilight To Dawn

He woke up and it was twilight
The sky was no longer bright
He wondered and pondered many things
While the crickets began to sing

He did not remember the day
And did not look forward to the night
He wished for time to delay
Although he knew it was not right

He barely noticed the time pass
As he peered into an empty glass
Realizing he did not want a drink
He felt his eyelids sink

When his eyes opened again
He heard birds sing
It was a beautiful dawn
And a bright day was born
