Twilight

The time of the moon is nigh the sun begins to sleep it's remnant an orange shimmer across the waters you sit at the waters' edge knees bent holding them inward curled up wishing something to hold onto once more the twilight of this day as apparent as your life the setting of your sun grinning at nature's ironic sense of humor you watch the shimmer shrink across the waters' surface as if a hand reaching out begging not to let go last glimpse of light you ponder as it diminishes acknowledging it will rise again thus bringing the new dawn but never knowing when
