Twenty
I am an old soul
trapped in a young body.
The doctors
say
I will be in a wheel chair
in the next couple years.
My spine is that of
an old woman.
And my kidney
is ready too fail.
I started early in
life.
I had my son
when I was seventeen.
And had my daughter
at eighteen.
I live each day
not taking anything
for granted.
I never thought
that I, fast's runner
in school;
would be confined to
a chair.
Life is unpredictable
but I won't let that
stand in my way.
Everyday is a gift.
