Twelve Years

Twelve Years

It’s been twelve years ago today
Since you died and went away
And yet this river I cried still flows
As I place on your grave, another rose
I’m sure you’ve adjusted to your heavenly home
On streets of gold I’m sure you roam
And the choir never sounded so sweet
As you join them around Jesus’ feet
But selfishly I still feel sad
Cause you were the best friend I ever had
Words can’t measure my loneliness
These wonderful memories, I can’t help miss
As each October fades away
November starts another day
And I awake with you on my mind
And deal with the hands of time

Dad, you are still so sorely missed

this one moved my heart, so touching, i lost my dad in 1970, we were not very close until later years. my mom died in 1997. but i know your pain and it never goes away, but your dad is in a better place and is waiting for you to come home once again.
