T'Was Just a Broken Heart

A tear drop glazed my eye last night
When you just walked away
You didn't stop and look around
Like you did just yesterday

It seems that we have lost our way
Put our love upon a shelf
It's just so hard to hug someone
When they're hugging someone else

I often see your lovely face
Where ever I may look
I guess it's plain to everyone
My broken heart's an open book

I couldn't love you any more
Since we've both been apart
Should you return to share my love
T'would heal my broken heart

I hate to hear you're gentle steps
As they fade into the mist
I'd hoped that you would have turned around
For one last farewell kiss

We dreamed and planned our life together
From the very start
But now you're gone, all our dreams have left
Me with that broken heart

I often see your lovely face
Where ever I may look
I guess it's plain to everyone
My broken heart's an open book

Each night I pray a fervent prayer
To the stars and moon above
A chance to hold you in my arms
And bring back my only love!
