'Twas Joy Quite Speakable
Beneath the springtime colors,
of azures sky light blue
Are chartreuse plumpish grapes that seem,
to dangle vines so true,
Nearby there lies a babbling brook,
that took our breath away,
Along its length hugging its sides,
were violets on display,
Behind them stood gold daffodils,
magnificence had sprung,
'Twas more than just bright color full,
'tis birds whose tweets had sung,
Now, this sensation we all shared,
brung utter sheer delight,
With smiling faces, laughter too,
a wondrous blessed sight,
On bikes, we rode top country roads,
those feelings stayed with us,
We heard a tune and whistled soon,
thereafter sang its chorus,
Sidewalk cafe we wined and dined,
its cuisine was genuine,
Our waiters tipped us with a song,
and we all had tipped in-kind,
We rode around a quaint old town,
the late noon sun sublime,
then realized the dimming skies,
the telltale signs of time,
We went right off back to the loft,
within the city's square,
hugging each other and then one another,
separately as a pair,
A night of rest we woke refreshed,
and had a lite breakfast,
Our bags were packed, friends back to back,
as we hugged until the last,
I sensed the app, that speakable capped,
and the fullness of heaven's glory,
that all we're feeling, the sense of reeling,
'twas joy in the heart of our story!
"Joy, joy, joy, joy, down in my heart to stay!"
