Turning Back Time

I never thought
                        that I would feel
                     the sorrow that I do
                       because I made
                        someone feel
                              so sad,
                          depressed
                            and blue.

                   I never ever wanted
                     to bring sadness
                           to your life.
                  Quite the contrary,
                      was my intent,
                         to explode
                    your inner strife.

                           But, alas,
                        I failed then
                      as your friend,
                          or more,
                        a confidant.
                   It’s just that time
                had stolen from me,
it is not of which I want.

                 So please see now,
                     with your heart,
                 while it aches there
                         as it does
                       I will correct
                       the problem
                    that now exists
and make it as it was.
