Turn the Other Cheek

I screamed hateful words,
I've done some things.
I have been dishonest, I have
Pulled some strings.

I'm able to be easy or
Wild like a beast.
I have gone hungry, I have
Prepared a feast.

   I can handle pain,
I know what it is like to hurt.
   I have awakened face down
lying in the dirt.

   I have self-discipline,
Feet are on the ground.
   I have faced danger,
I have been safe and sound.

   I love deeply and
With passion.
   I pay attention to
My gut reaction.

   When I love my,
Soul ignites.
   I'm focused, I can
Adjust my sights.

   I can problem solve,
A semi-intelligent mind.
   I have led the way,
I have fallen behind.

   When you listen,
You quit speaking.
   To find someone,
You stop seeking.

  To accept the facts,
You have to handle the truth.
I can be Fonzie cool and
I can be uncouth.

It is easy for me to
Be captivated.
   Sometimes the story I
Tell can be slightly fabricated.

   I can blend in or
I can be unique.
I will go toe to toe,
Or turn the other cheek.
