Turn Around

Turn Around

Lost and losing control.
How much longer do I play this role?

All is fine, a smile on my face.
How long do I stay in this unhappy place?

I live my life only through you.
Shadows of who I want to be block my view.

I feel so attached to you, afraid to walk away.
But at the same time I know I can’t stay.

I’m not sure where we went from good to bad.
I’m not sure where you went from happy to mad.

I can’t continue to be the object of your anger and pain.
Sooner or later it will drive me insane.

I have to leave now and this time I won’t turn around.
I have to save myself while myself can still be found.

Many fall into relationships like this, that point that you don't even know how you got to. Sometimes it is better just to walk away and not look back as you wrotye. You express yourself clearly and really let the readers feel as ifthey are a part of the write. Michael

Melissa, I am so happy you still have the awareness about you to make rightful decisions to maintain your own happiness and sanity. I applaud you for a poem composed by you so perfectly and contains such powerful emotions that project outwards to your readers to feel. Amazing Write... MPK
