Trying: Wait and See

skating on thin ice
in my bare feet
i am tightrope walking in
my big chunky boots
i sympathize with fire
numb to the burn
then swallow it whole
to quench the yearn
to satisfy this craving
i pretend i have wings
becoming accustomed to
these busted up knees
don't mind me, i'm just
tracing circles through the air
you think i'm getting nowhere
but you just wait
you wait and see

i'm more
than you
will ever be
