Trust In Me

Tell me your secret, trust in me,
expose the lock and I have a key
we never know who we can be
until we set our hearts free, set our hearts free.

There have been journeys we've walked alone,
feeling burdened with a soul of stone,
Remember the rainbows after the storm
the blanket of comfort that keeps you warm.
Embrace teddy bear hugs and security
wrap your weary arms tightly around me.
An angel to guide your way from sorrow,
sleep the night and make it to tomorrow.
Have faith that I will ease your burden
you need that someone to confide in.

Tell me your secret, trust in me,
expose the lock and I have a key,
we never know who we can be
until we set our hearts free, set our hearts free.

Take a deep breath, welcome the warm air,
I know how it feels when life feels so unfair.
What you've seen that scene can't be undone
you want to give up because the demons won.
You're a fighter, in your heart you know
you've got to keep going, don't let go.
Listening ears are waiting for your voice
step back from the ledge, make the life choice
My hands are waiting, my heart is praying,
take the blessing and say what needs saying.

tell me you secret, trust in me,
expose the lock and I have a key,
we never know who we can be
until we set our hearts free, set our hearts free.

I can be anyone, anywhere, friend or stranger
someone to share your sadness and anger
Someone like me to free someone like you
There is always a way to let light shine through
darkness may come but the sun will rise again
when you feel alone I'll be your friend.

Tell me your secret, trust in me
unload your burden and you will see
you can defeat demons by being strong
the world stand with you, because here you belong.

Take my hand, trust in me...

Notes: I found out yesterday a high school friend took his own life. We were social media connected but hadn't spoke in a dozen years. He went to war and came back with demons. As those in the aftermath of suicide wonder, what could we have done, is there something we should have said. I'm sad a situation gets to the point of finality. The impact of death is like a windshield in a car accident, the glass breaks and the cracks spread, it reaches out way more than the initial puncture. but take that analogy and, if you are the one that needs someone to talk to, there are people that are out there, spread to the edges of your existence that will be there for you. we are all connected.
Live in peace before you rest in peace.

If only these words could have been written before he lost hope. Maybe the connection could have been made and all those tender thoughts could have had the chance to change things and he would have known love. My sincerest condolences.

Yes Casarah...the human condition leans towards fear, I use a number of emotional tools to keep sorrow at bay...too many to get into here...another wonderful poem!

Looking through depression glass, the world looks a lot different, Cas. I have had friends in the past who have taken their own life and felt the same way. The only answer is they are broken. A positive write. I am sorry about your ex-classmate.

It is really sad to know about your friend's death, you see that the fate of us were written way before we were born, he was always suppose to die at that exact moment, if not suicide, it would have been a natural death, or any other cause, but he would have died at that exact moment, so reslly nobody could've done anything as only a excuse was needed for death to tske place, it was a really beautiful and sad write, your words here have definitely touch my hear, good luck

" Death is a celestial pillow upon which the soul rests for a while dreaming of the life to come " Demetrios Trifiatis! Dearest Casarah, how delightful to see your profound and enlightening writing that examines many parts of life with accuracy including the idea of freedom! In philosophy they say that everything is possible in life and your poem shows the way! Much like it my dear friend!
