Trust

Some dig in this bag of tricks,
To get their point across,
Others sling it on their hips,
Just before it’s tossed...
Tied to gestures never meant,
They make it seem sincere,
But it’s disguised by such intent,
You can’t tell when it’s near...
It could be a secret,
Or something deep you shared,
With one you thought would keep it,
Hidden deep as though they cared...
Many never own the truth,
Yet look you in the eye,
But never speak up when it’s mute,
So you believe that lie...
Time is just the measure,
When it comes to those to trust,
And not left up to leisure,
When it’s those you always must...

I am reading such diverse poems here at PoetrySoup. Poet's hearts are bleeding poetry today. That is where the best poetry comes from. It has been my pleasure to read your poetry today Terrence. Continue to write and share it and I will be back to read it. Have a wonderful day and may you find inspiration along the way. Love, Carol
