Trust

What price do you take for betrayal?,
love's not costly or strong enough to prevail.
Our life on Earth is so, so short,
and still to treachry some do resort.
As life deals us a vicious blow,
where's trust?, I'd like to know.
Can a pain be strengten with hate?,
or can a touch of love make it dissipate?
Is there a reason to turn our back,
when things seem to go awack?
Too long there's been war and violence,
it's about time to put it all to silence.
Is there anything you wish you could change?,
yet because of it you are treated strange.
This poem I wrote to give peace,
by the time it's published I'll
probably be deceased.
I could be wrong or maybe right,
but, I'm not leaving without a fight.
