True Love Exists, Right

I want so desperately to find someone and fall in love, But I’m beginning to think that my time has passed. I keep hoping for a sign from someone up above To let me know that my loneliness won’t last. I walk down the street and see couples holding hands. That’s when I think to myself, “Maybe I’m too late.” There’s a perfect love for everyone, or so I understand. I just wonder if mine passed me by when I was eight. I think of the times over the years I’ve been dating, And I start to realize that I have yet to feel a spark. The hardest part about getting older is the waiting, Hoping, that someday, I won’t end up alone in the park. It’s the realization that true love exists for everyone And that one day fate will bring someone to my side, That keeps me looking for love where there’s been none, Through the ups and downs of my life like the ocean tide.
