Troublesome Experience

Why oh why should I have this affliction
about the English language and its diction,
I never did seem able to spell
nor use the proper adjectives that well,
at school I was bottom of the class
teacher felt I was too dense to pass,
I gave English away as a bad job
so what!  let everyone else be a nob,
I had given up hope of grammar school
to me by now being thick was cool,
my sights were now set on fiction
that’s why; I’ve probably still got this affliction!!!

Especially when it comes to humorous poetry. My son found some online grammar sites and taught himself all the stuff I had been trying to teach him for years. Because of that , he went on to law school and now he understands prepositions, adverbs, punctuation and all that good stuff! I enjoyed this, Harry. Login to Reply
