9/4/2024 for Trimeric, 2 Poetry Contest sponsored by Janice Cannerdy

"To learn to fly, be not ashamed", an ugly caterpillar said. A slowly passing snail exclaimed, "You make me laugh. You've lost your head". An ugly caterpillar said, "I will be pretty by and by, with colors that would make one sigh." A slowly passing snail exclaimed, "You're living in a fantasy, and slow and ugly, just like me." "You make me laugh . You've lost your head". A pretty butterfly was heard to purr and flutter like a bird.

I'm glad Marilene! I let my bias creep in, because my garden has snails and milkweeds which attract the monarch butterflies, and I will admit, I prefer the butterflies to the snails.
