Tried

I tried my best to keep it all in
I tried my best to not let them see
I tried my best to hide behind a grin
I tried my best just to be
I fought it down
Cried without sound
Kept my feet
On the ground
I kept my smile
Mile after mile
Empty and cold 
All the while
