Tribute To Hurricane Harvey

On August 29, it rained
Never knew that it would change
Everything that they ever had is gone
Tell me how do they move on
A hurricane came through and tore
 the state that they adored
So this to you is my tribute
I want to send my prayers
To Texas
I feel so sad
For you to loose everything you had
A state washed away
In less than a day
Seeing the elderly stuck
Nothing could be done
They were trying to get help
They could barely help themselves
You saw the water covering them
It was a dreadful sight
People dying left and right
Having to get on air mattresses
And in the fridge
To swim to safety
Children scared
No where to go
The cars and buses and transits are gone
Nothing to call your own
How do you hold on
And rebuild
Your wound is open
Please give yourself time to heal
People busting out windows
Just to save lives
Why is it no one hears there cry
Or was it simply
Nothing that we could do
But wait for the after math
And trying to figure out the equation
Of what happens now
People on boats , looking for hope
Heads are down
Bodies are found
Alot of people making donations to rebuild
Outside of money
What can we really give
We can travel
And go and help
For they can't do it by themselves
Let them know that people do care
And they are in the way there
Reach out and lift up your their heads
Give them encouragement
Inspiration
Let them know what they see now is not there final destination
Give them hugs show them love
Let them feel unique
If they are down help them stand on their feet
Millions if people don't have food or clothes
Let's come together as a nation and take control
Take a stand and volunteer
Let them no that the love is here
People have to start over
From the beginning
They felt like they've lost
Let them know they're still winning
Even if for now they have to relocate
Let them know things will get better
Texas in a economic crisis
They're all making sacrifices to
Readjust
This makes you appreciate life so much
What do you do
When there's nothing but rain
Know that this is a testimony for all the pain
That this storm caused
You still are up even when you fall
I hope and pray
That through the day
They find your inner strength
And be strong
Through this great depression
They still hold on
It won't belong
And even if it does
We will come together and show love
To the elderly it's going to be ok, you all taught us alot to keep the faith
To the people who lost all
We are here to catch you when you fall
United as a nation
Is right now where we should stand
And as Micheal Jackson
Would say reach out and touch somebody hand
This is our chance
To rebuild
Let's give our time and help
Because that's what they need
Let's help feed their stomachs and their spirits
They need inspiration
Let's give it
We need to help
They are mentally emotionally and physically starving
This is my tribute to
The victims and survivors of Hurricane Harvey
And as the scripture says
This too shall pass and trouble won't last
