Tremfya

Who names these medications
The commercials always tout?
Since one is weirder than the next,
I’d like to find that out.

Xeljanz and Trulicity,
Cosentyx and Tremfya
Join with manufacturers
Who might Abilify ya.

I picture people in a room
With lettered cubes who toss ‘em
To see which combinations stick,
Deciding some are awesome.

To me, they sound ridiculous
No matter what they’re used for
And viewers, seeing names like these,
Could never be confused more.

Same people who give incredibly long Latin names to simple plants -- Scentific types, who are not at all poetic… LOL. Thanks, ilene. ~ gw

I hear these names and I think "how in the world would you spell t hat?" It also amuses me that we are supposed to diagnose ourselves now and let our doctors know what we need. Really? Thanks for riling me up, Ilene.

You echo the same thoughts which have passed through my mind several times, Ilene...but never made it to one of my poems :) Your magic pen will never run dry!! Best regards // paul

A great write, Ilene! I've often wondered myself what geniuses come up with those awful names - and most of the times the side-effects are dreadful! Glad you enjoyed the travails of poor old Cletus O'Toole. Stay tuned - more to come! A very happy Chanukah to you and your family - BoB
