Tree Woman
She cares for butterflies, birds, grasshoppers and a curly tailed squirrel.
Watches the ground as storms come unleashed and danger unfurl.
She is caregiver to the produce, animals, and components of the forest.
Her compassion, strength and loveliness is spread out before us.
She is the willow, the oak, the elm, the hickory, the hemlock too.
She stands by us season after season, for it is what a goddess would do.
