Treasure

I found a treasure in the sand
Shining like water
I loved it when it called my name
Beautiful animal

I polished it and kept it warm
Hid it in water
Let it wash away its prison
Wild and visceral

Learned to fly out of site
Lost on the water
It still visits me sometimes
Beloved criminal
