Treacherous Heart

A treacherous heart has the capacity to lie. It can sometimes fake pain, But it’s killing inside. A treacherous heart has the capacity to lie. It celebrates heartbreak, But it just wants to die. Maybe it’s fine to tell the truth once in your life. Maybe it’s fine to weep your tears Like it’s been a while. Maybe it’s okay to show your vulnerability. Maybe it’s okay to show you’re hurting Like it’s your ability. A treacherous heart may lie all the time But the eyes reveal reality; They do want to cry. A treacherous heart may lie all the time. But the voice may be against words; They don’t make a rhyme. Perhaps it’s fine to throb in while you can. Perhaps it’s fine to keep your love Though you’re not part of his plan. Perhaps it’s okay to have a treacherous heart. Perhaps it’s okay to hold on Until you are ready to depart.
