Trapped

For she waits
Weeding through her past mistakes
With her feelings deeply wounded
As she was obtruded
To find the reasons
Of his faults affirmations
Her lover of many years
Leaves her begging for more between the tears
Mysteries behavior he displays
Left in the dark and haze
Should she stay and reap the benefits
After all he does have good merits
Or move on and take a chance
Its not like she’s losing anything
There’s no romance
“Oh” but there’s my child’s concern
When will she ever learn?
He plays his role well
Stepfather done swell
But his lack of passion
Has got her mind thrashing
As she lives like a mouse in a cage
Trapped in her own rage

(This poem was written about a friend of mine struggling with a relationship)
