Trap Door

The man was dangling, kicking, scared, His hooded blindness no relief; The hangman coldly watched him die: Now one less killer, one less thief.

Oooh, very cool take on the "doors" contest, Jack. Never would have thought about this, but you always amaze me with your creativity. Hangings seem to be out of vogue now, but in the U.S. we still have the electric chair and lethal injections. Best wishes in the contest! Love, Carolyn

Sorry I can't search a new poem of yours to comment to. I am getting behind here lately. Anyway, rereading this one, I think I want to fave it. It's not too often that a short rhyme like this can say so MUCH. And I am not so sure that you are actually taking sides here on capital punishment. For me, this is a subjective and intelligent write.

Excellent rhyme here. Really liked this one. And yes. I am one of those who believe in capital punishment. I believe the punishment should fit the crime. Ever notice how the criminal element has increased since we got rid of the death penalty? Great stuff. God Bless, JB
