TRANQUILITY

Good riddance to the shouts and screams
And panic all aboard,
Good riddance to abandoned dreams
And crying to the Lord.

Good riddance to the going down
Below the heartless waves,
Good riddance to the fear we drown
Like ancient galley slaves.

Good riddance to the freezing cold,
To the collapsing lung,
And to the nightmares sevenfold,
The life-song being sung.

Good welcome to the leagues of depth
That spread like soothing balm
And that provide through liquid death
Tranquility and calm.

Very nicely done the rhyme and meter are spot on creating very vivid pictures I like the repeating line as well as it reminds me of French styles they are my favorite my only criticism is the use of the word and to start some lines but I am nit picking overall a job well done

Charles, you really are right. I really do tend to overuse a single word in many of my poems. I really should start paying more attention to this. A really big thank you for the wake-up call!😊 Iryna
