Notes About The Poem

While in the hospital a couple of  weeks ago, my room was on the 4th floor facing the highway.  The train would go by almost every hour day and night. I found it very soothing.

Train's Rhythmic Clatter

December winter, the night peace broken. Pulling in a deep drag, a wee sound spoken, Unseen considerable distance, recurrent roar Of a train's vibration snaking on the rail score A serpent devouring the expanse of space, With its deafening thundering roar race Of its whistle warnings, the closer it nears. Approaching road crossing the ditch lights appear, Metal wheels rhythmic clatters over the rail ties As it flies by, if saying, Hello. Good-bye. 1/3/2021

First, I hope you are OK and feeling better. Second, "Congratulations" on your win. As a child, I loved visiting my aunt since she had a train in her backyard. I loved hearing the sound. Enjoy your win and feel better real fast. Blessings with a hug...........................

I think that the wheels of a train and the chug, chug, chug, - chug, chug, chug noise they make is soothing and always sends me to sleep. Gosh I haven't traveled in a train for about 6 years, I wonder how much long they will last, but for them to last they will have to make them faster and faster . Great creative, informative write my friend. Happy New Year to you and yours. Hugs and blessings Jennifer.

This took me down memory lane. When I was young I formed part of a choir and we had a song for men only (mainly on base) imitating the travels of a train. Now I have a poor memory but I believe I wrote a poem on this too. God knows where it's hidden. Hoping you are well. ~~
