Train Wreck

You are a train I can never catch
Never had a chance
I ran for years before I saw
that you were always just too far
too raw
Never saw the real distance
You always made it safe
Until one day
the truth collided
with my every hope and fear and faith
This must have another end
It mustn't all have been pretend
What I feel is true
That solidarity is you
Don't throw it all away
There just has to be another way
to you
to me
to us
This pact of blood and sweat and trauma and trust
You are what saves me every day
Please don't throw it all away
