Train Up a Child ...

“They’re taking away our freedom!”
So, many people say.
“They took the Bible out of school;
Our kids are not allowed to pray!”

“The pledge of allegiance they have banned
Because it mentions God.
The Ten Commandments are taboo
Upon the campus sod.”

But, before such rulings of the Court,
Back in the “good old days”,
Did we really read God’s book in school?
And how often did we pray?

Do you teach your kids to pray each night,
Before they go to bed?
When school is out, and they are home,
Do they hear the Bible read?

Train up your children, after school,
And before each school day starts--
What you teach your kids at home
Is what they’ll cherish in their hearts.
