Trail of Tears

I long to be home where the mountains are
To look down on the valley and wish on a star
To walk across the forests green
To marvel at all there is to be seen
I've held these memories deep in my heart
The faces and voices of my people are there and will never part
In happy times and in sad
These precious memories were all I had
Here I stay in this unknown land
All of us taken here in one great band
We came here with sadness and tears
We have traveled the Trail of Tears
