we called.
you came.
but you were nothing
like we thought
the messages
on golden disc
we sent, were caught
a little foreign romance
we were seeking,
we bought, but you
and your legions,
all glistening,
lay your beams
at our feet.
they may have been
4 by 4s, for all our anticipation,
hard and ready
and like a game
of dominoes,
we were struck
by the awesomeness of you
we rolled over
on red carpets
like welcoming
dams in heat
we walked
the fiery coals, for you;
and melted
like toy soldiers
