Toxic

Sometimes, I look to our past,
And I miss you.
I thought our love could last.
I was wrong about us, about you.

All the fights and unanswered texts.
Apologizing, and saying you miss me.
Saying you'll move on to the next,
Then saying you love me.

I stayed way passed our expiration date.
For the shot at real love.
All you ever did was make me wait.
This was never real love.

But you did make me happy there for a while.
And maybe the world had a different plan for us.
But your number is one I'll never again dial.
Because 2017 was the end of us.

That photo of you kissing another girl,
Man it tore my heart apart.
I cried and cried, almost hurled.
You broke us apart.
