Town Children

Town children firmly in their towns
and never seeing black-faced sheep
save on some screens.
(The sheep they bleat
in tiny flocks on tiny screens.)

Town children firmly in their seats
in shuttered rooms
in all the towns.
The towns are far away from trees.
(The trees are tiny on the screens.)

Town children playing on their phones
and seeing seas and country homes,
but all on screens and never true,
but all's okay,
for what to do?
