Tossing Crush To the Sharks

This is just a rogue crush; it will quickly pass.
Like a waterspout passing over the fisherman.
At times, loneliness erects a shimmering mirage.
Turn rock-hard common sense into a flaccid collage.
Never mistake it for love- it's just a flash of pyrite.
Amidst the howl in a harsh, starless night.

Infatuation is nothing more than a cay of fantasy.
Stay too long, and the bones will garnish the beach.
When you're not seeking love, it'll silently kiss the heart.
You'll forget all about all the crush and toss it to the sharks.
