Topic of Discussion

In the timeless tavern
The three voices meet
Soft and low to not be heard
Whiskey washes over each

The topic of discussion
The three voices find
Does loss of love harden hearts
Or do they mend over time

The first voice says it does
How could it not
The one you love could simply leave
You would lose the life you sought

The second voice says it can’t
The heart would heal its self
The one you love could leave indeed
Then over time the pain would melt

The third voice wasn’t heard
Instead, a gentle sigh
This was the voice of a broken man
Broken from losing the love of his life
