Too Shy

Too shy to say a word
to those you want to speak.
A frightened thing,
not knowing what to seek.

Afraid of being thought the fool,
if you open your mouth.
So you leave others alone,
by staying away from the phone.

Silence becomes your friend,
the only one you trust.
Others move on ahead,
while you remain in the dust.

You gaze upon the ground,
as if something was there.
Secrets are locked within,
because you're afraid to share.

Many times you're unnoticed,
and you ask yourself why.
If you want my opinion,
it's because you're too shy.
