Too far

We did have hopes we did have faith but God was too far above to keep us safe to keep us company to lend a hand to offer his arms for us to land... Mama couldn't stay mama had to work papa went to pray to save his soul there were just ghosts behind the doors and a lonely path from school to home. And that's how life worked olders looking after youngers carrying a heavy weight on shaky frail shoulders hiding the fear inside trying to look stronger trying to look rough wanting to be older.
