Tomorrow's Past
My reason for life's journey
Is to find out who I am
A quest to leave a memory
And to be the best I can
The road I travel is long and hard
I stumble along the way
But instead of giving up, I stand
To face another day
Time has become my teacher
And my executioner one day soon
For death keeps growing closer
I can hear his mournful tune
I wonder what I'll leave behind
How many will say my name?
Will they mention me with honor
Or will the speak of me in shame
The past affects the future
It tells of who I've been
With no promise of tomorrow
Just evidence of an end
