Tomorrow Never Came

Tomorrow we agreed—at our special place Where we always had—our special dates. The blooming park with spring in swing Bring out the larks—making them sing. On a wrought iron bench—waiting, Fumbling a box that held a bond. How to ask—will you respond? I kept calm waiting by the pond. I waited and grew so anxious within. Brewing a storm—the fears began. Fears of hurt—my nerves worn thin. Descending—my heart—tailspin. Hours have passed at a lento pace, My heart began to lose this race. As Shadows grew longer—fading away, I remembered our special day at the bay. I accepted the fate—you’re coming no longer. I wish things could be the same. You said—you loved me like no tomorrow, But, tomorrow never came.
