Together
I reflect on the power
Of being together
Of the joining
Of hands
Whatever the weather
To be with those friends
On a road full of choices
With an ear for our joys
Or our tremulous voices
I reflect on the trust
Of the soul of another
When the challenge of rain
Has you running for cover
And I pray
With a fullness
Overwhelming my heart
For the beautiful humans
Be they close or apart
Who connect and restore.
To the fixers and builders
As community starts with
An invite in from the wilderness
For the lovers and likers
For the kind and the lowly
For the persistent peacemakers
Winning hearts over, slowly
It's been said many times..
Will I tire of it? Never.
If we want to go far,
We are better together
