Todays Kids

Why don’t kids today, Play outside everyday. Frolicking in the sun, Making their own fun, You couldn’t keep me inside, No matter how you tried. On a bike or in the Bush, On a skateboard with a push. You just can’t get some kids outside, Behind a cold computer they hide. Gaming on Facebook or instagram, Collecting all the friends they can. Socially inept and physically awkward, Can our species ever move forward. Not if you think of survival of the fittest. It’s now more like survival of the fattest. 29/03/2018

What a clever process of elimination though, for the ones clever enough to get a more rounded upbringing, the world will be their oyster. While the others are happy being sheep.

So true...but the dangers outside are automatic machine guns and killers high on substance abuse...a far cry from how it was for yesterday's children... A very realistic poem of the day... All the best Jeff

Tx Arturo. Living in Australia we don’t really have to worry about those issues so much. I have written a few poems on that very subject though.
