Today I Will Be Your Teacher
The woman wearing all white with surreal off-white hair scared me
She was white everywhere, even her face looked like copy paper.
She glowed white. There was an enormous reason I avoided her.
I had no idea what it was, but it was heartfelt.
Maybe it was her white hat that annoyed me.
My daughters gravitated to her almost immediately.
They were as enamored by her as I was repulsed.
You really have to go talk to her, my oldest urged me.
With great reluctance I approached her.
We were at a psychic fair, which I love.
I wondered how much longer you would avoid me, she said.
I looked up the instant you walked in,
recognizing you from another lifetime.
This annoyed me even more.
You were my teacher then, and today I will be your teacher.
I listened carefully as she explained things my soul needed to hear.
Wondering why I had avoided her with every ounce of my being.
Maybe we did not think you were ready, my soul guides whispered.
I gave her a hug, as I left, remembering her now.
