Today
Today
The sun peeked out of the sky today,
The multi colored rays,
Sent the dark away back to its lair,
To brood the hours away.
The bed was warm as I cuddled in,
I wanted to sleep and live in my lovely dream,
I felt the soft caress of the brand new day,
My lips were curved in a smile of peace.
My world was heaven all peace and bliss,
I thanked the Almighty for today,
This day that winked at me,
Pulled my ears and made me smile.
As I rose from my bed,
I felt its protest: but to waste a minute …
Of this lovely day… seemed a sin.
To live today like no other day I pledge,
As to me I embrace it with love
