Today

The headlights flash as two people reminisce
In a perfect world where nothing is amiss
Their fingers grasp in passionate unity
Fighting off the freezing cold with their own heat

And the wheels, they turn
And the rubber burns
As they speed on down the road

Watch the birds scatter
And silence shatter
No soul around here bears a load

Silence breaks as the words float through the air
The world around them might not even be there
Completely alone inside a massive crowd
Inside a world where no one else is allowed

Heat within the cold
A story never told
To anyone in their past

And still the fire burns
And time quickly turns
To build a legend they know will last
